FAQs

PJM Auto Detailing

  • What is car detailing?

Car detailing is a comprehensive cleaning and reconditioning process for both the interior and exterior of vehicles. Unlike standard car washes, detailing is more thorough, employing specialized products and techniques designed to restore vehicles to their optimal condition, similar to when they were new.
  • What's the difference between a car wash and car detailing?

A car wash is a relatively quick procedure that focuses on cleaning the vehicle's exterior to eliminate dirt and grime. Car detailing, however, is a more comprehensive service that addresses both interior and exterior elements. This includes processes such as polishing, waxing, upholstery cleaning, and engine bay detailing to achieve a more refined and immaculate appearance.
  • How long does it take to detail a car?

The duration of a car detailing service varies depending on the selected package and the vehicle's current condition. According to our specialists, a standard interior and exterior detail typically requires approximately two to three hours. More extensive detailing services, which may include engine cleaning and paint correction, can extend to six hours or longer.
  • How often should I detail my car?

The recommended frequency for car detailing depends on several factors including driving habits, weather conditions, and general vehicle maintenance. Based on our professional experience, vehicles should be detailed every four to six months on average. However, if you regularly drive in harsh conditions such as snow, rain, or on dirt roads, more frequent detailing may be necessary.
  • How much does detailing cost?

Auto detailing service costs vary based on the level of service, vehicle size, and additional treatments requested. Our basic packages typically include exterior washing, waxing, and interior vacuuming, while our premium packages may incorporate paint correction, leather conditioning, and additional services. • What's the difference between waxing and ceramic coating?

Waxing provides a protective layer on your vehicle's paint that enhances shine and offers basic protection against environmental contaminants. Based on our experience, wax typically remains effective for several weeks to a couple of months. Ceramic coating, alternatively, creates a more durable protective barrier that repels water, dirt, and contaminants. Our specialists confirm that ceramic coatings generally last between one to three years, making them a more advanced and long-lasting protection solution.
  • What kinds of detailing services are included?

While each vehicle receives customized attention, our standard detailing services include: vacuuming of carpets, floor mats, upholstery, and trunk/cargo areas; shampooing carpets, floor mats, and upholstery; cleaning windows; treating all hard surfaces including vinyl and plastic; deodorizing interior fabrics; cleaning door jambs; washing the vehicle's exterior; cleaning wheels, wheel wells, rims, tires, chrome trim, and bumpers; and polishing, waxing, and sealing the paint. Ceramic coating is available as an optional additional service.
  • Can scratches be removed from my paint job without my vehicle having to be repainted?

Yes, professional auto detailing can diminish the visibility of light scratches and swirl marks through a specialized process known as paint correction. This technique involves carefully polishing the paint surface to eliminate minor imperfections without requiring a complete repaint.
  • Do you offer mobile detailing?

Yes, beginning in April 2025, we will provide mobile detailing services. Our technicians will travel to your home or workplace to detail your vehicle, offering maximum convenience for our clients.
